I can't find any record of how Obama voted, and there's no official tally.)

I'm hopeful that, once in office, Obama will see the value of going with John Milton and Thomas Jefferson's sense of what's needed in media. I'll certainly be doing all in my power to make that happen (after I finish writing New New Media, I'm going to get back to writing The Flouting of the First Amendment.)Paul Levinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07609987407926836519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2289595359432630118.post-1657419248061230062008-06-20T00:02:00.000-04:002008-06-20T00:02:00.000-04:00Great piece and important topic.I'd be curious to ...Great piece and important topic.

I'd be curious to see if any real progressive reform of the FCC might occur under an Obama administration, backed by a Democratic Congress. I'm skeptical that any reform would go far enough, as I think Obama is a bit cautious about radical transformations. He's somewhat conservative in his progressivism, if that makes sense.

A new era of communication environments requires a new mindset about how they are to be managed (or not) and how they are to be protected.

I'd also point to the FISA/Telecomm Immunity issue as something people should be paying attention to right now. It looks like the spineless Democratic majority in the House is going to collapse and allow ATT and company to get away without any responsibility for violating the constitution.Mike Plughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08180838171989998353noreply@blogger.com
