My wife and I binged the two seasons of Striking Out, originally (in 2017-2018) on Irish TV, now on Acorn via Amazon Prime. The show only ran two seasons, and there's apparently no prospect for a third season, which is a shame, because the two seasons were quite good, and the second season ended on an unexpected turn of events.
The set-up of the show is something we've seen before: a happily married or about to be happily married woman comes home to find her man happily going at it in bed with another woman. In the case of Striking Out, Tara and Eric, the about-to-be-married happy couple, both are attorneys, who work in Eric father's firm, and just for good measure, Tara's father is an attorney, too. Lots of possibilities there, and the narrative is especially enjoyable to see because it all takes place in Dublin, a sight for sore eyes in these our current COVID-beset times.
But the stories are good, too, and come in two kinds. One is episodic, as Tara struggles to establish her own practice, and takes this unusual case and that. The other narrative is continuing, and delves into what's going on in Eric's father's firm. It's under investigation, by some kind of independent prosecutor who is both brilliant and drinks too much, and whom Tara comes to sometimes work with, which adds further provocative permutations to the story.
The acting is excellent. Amy Huberman plays an appealing Tara, wounded, powerful, loving, and funny. The supporting cast features Moe Dunford (Vikings), Neil Morrissey (Line of Duty), and Maria Doyle Kennedy and Nick Dunning from The Tudors, so how can you go wrong? The only thing wrong about Striking Out is that there's no third season, so here's a final plea for one in case anyone who can make that happen is reading this.

Agreed!
We just binge watches it and went a bit nuts looking for season (series) 3!
At least they could make a 2 hour movie to wrap it up?
And also, the fact that there is no explanation and I can't even find any reason on Irish media makes me wonder if the Dunbar law firm had something to do with shutting this show down !
Okay the characters we've been seeing with binge watching are getting entirely too real during COVID!
Ha - well said!
What a ridiculous way to end a series. So many unanswered questions. Great show but the ending SUX.
There must be a season 3 PLEASE. I live this programme
There needs to be a season 3, please!!!
Just finished Striking Out and I need more, most enjoyable series I’ve watched in forever, absolutely love and sometimes hate all characters, please consider another season. Watching on Acorn TV Canada.
PLEASE make a 3rd season of Striking Out! The only complaint I have about this series is there is not another season to provide some closure for the viewers. This is a well written show, and it is difficult to believe other series would take precedent over this one. Thanks!!
We just finished Season 2 and loved the show. We are so disappointed that there is not a Season 3. In the USA, you strike out in baseball with three strikes. Can't we have three seasons before we "strike out?"
I have watched it twice now since it first came out - hoping for a third season by the time I just finished it again last night. I also watched Amy Huberman in Finding Joy, a quirky comedy, which I enjoyed.
I have to say she has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen! They are like a magnet - I can’t look away. I definitely hope there is some future closure for this story and the characters- I await what may be next for her & other cast members.
Just finished watching Striking Out. What a well written, well acted series that engages you. Full of interesting twists and corners. A travesty no one in leadership has secured a Series 3. The ending of Series 2 begs for another!!
